Huangqi injection, derived from the traditional Chinese herb Astragalus membranaceus, has drawn attention for its diverse therapeutic effects in clinical practice. This overview searches into the clinical application of Huangqi injection, focusing on its notable attributes such as endotoxin antagonism, anticoagulation effects, and its role in modulating immune function and inflammation. Huangqi injection’s therapeutic efficacy stems from its potential ability to counteract endotoxins, which originate from the outer membrane of Gram-negative bacteria. These endotoxins cause inflammatory chain reactions that promote the onset of diseases like sepsis. Through empirical evidence, Huangqi injection has demonstrated a remarkable capacity to suppress the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines triggered by endotoxins.
